East Troy, WI (PRWEB) October 26, 2012
Wisconsin Oven designed and manufactured a gas fired batch oven with two (2) rotating mandrel drives and two (2) load carts to cure resin on composite cylinders for Parker Hannifin Corporation. The curing oven has chamber dimensions of 8’0” wide x 12’0” long x 7’0” high and a maximum operating temperature of 500º F. The oven was designed with the ability to heat two (2) composite wound cylinders at the same time in one oven. The composite curing oven is constructed with 6” thick tongue and groove panel assemblies and 20 gauge aluminized steel interior and ductwork. A reinforced insulated floor with wheel guides was provided for the load carts. Two (2) rotating mechanisms are mounted at the rear of the oven to provide mandrel rotation of the composite cylinders. The two (2) manual load carts that were provided are adjustable to different mandrel sizes and have a weight capacity of 575 pounds each.
The industrial batch oven is specifically designed with composite curing features for precise temperature and pressure control. The exhaust features motorized dampers on both the fresh air inlet and the exhaust outlet for enhanced heating and cooling capabilities. The heating system features a 750,000 BTU per hour air heat burner including a motorized gas control valve, flame detector and flame relay with alarm horn. The recirculation system has an 8,600 CFM @ 10 HP high efficiency blower, and utilizes combination airflow to maximize heating rates and temperature uniformity of the product.
The customer required a 9-point temperature uniformity of +/-10° F at 400° F. The oven has a NEMA 12 control enclosure with IEC style motor starters, push buttons, and pilot lights. The temperature for the curing oven is controlled by a Wisconsin Oven Paragon Processor™ which provides the customer with enhanced features such as Ethernet communication, recipe programming, guaranteed air temperature soak, auto start-up control so the oven is preheated at the beginning of each shift and auto shutdown control.
The customer also added Wisconsin Oven’s energy efficient E-PackTM oven upgrade to the composite curing oven, which includes thicker wall panels, higher efficient motors, a door limit switch, and a few other energy saving items that will reduce their operating costs.
