Alexandra, VA (PRWEB) October 25, 2012
Virginia’s newest law firm has been a nationally-recognized leader in litigation practice for years. Phoenix-based Baird, Williams & Greer, LLP (BWG) opened a new office this month in Alexandria.
BWG’s Virginia office is headed up by partner Craig LaChance, who specializes in appeals, business litigation, creditor’s rights and corporate bankruptcy litigation, with a focus in Chapter 15 international insolvencies. Mr. LaChance has been admitted to the state bars of Virginia, Arizona, and the District of Columbia. He has also been admitted to practice in front of numerous federal District and Circuit Courts as well as the United States Supreme Court.
Since moving to Virginia, Mr. LaChance has hit the ground running, taking on high-profile cases including a large antitrust action and an appeal of a Chapter 15 Bankruptcy case before the Third Circuit. LaChance and fellow BWG partner Daryl Williams filed an amicus brief on behalf of several Arizona business and community associations in Arizona v. United States, the S.B. 1070 immigration case which was heard before the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this year.
While impressive, this is just the beginning for BWG’s Alexandria office. “Practicing law in the Washington, D.C. area opens a lot of new opportunities for the firm. In the coming years, we foresee hiring new associates and expanding into areas of law unique to the region, including government relations and federal lobbying, administrative law, and intellectual property,” Mr. LaChance said, adding, “I couldn’t be more pleased to be a part of this vibrant, thriving community.”
