According to Police reports, local law enforcement are searching for suspects who may be involved in campaign sign vandalism and theft in the Hoover, Vestavia, and Fultondale areas.

Over the past weekend at least two individuals, reported to be seen on camera in Fultondale, have been stealing, running over, or cutting down the large 4 foot by 8 foot signs of Judicial Candidate Ginger Barbee, according to police reports. Legal representatives from the Barbee Campaign have declined to comment on the alleged suspects or the investigations, but did say that the total damages so far are over $2,000 dollars.

“We've had wonderful volunteers help us place these signs all over Jefferson County. We have permission to have our signs on these properties, and the property owners are not happy with the vandalism or the trespassing,” says Jonathan Barbee, Campaign Manager and son of Ginger Barbee.

Representatives from the Barbee campaign are offering a $1,000 dollar reward for any information leading to the arrest of the persons involved. According to reports there were no other signs vandalized around the Barbee signs.

“This was targeted directly at our campaign. In many of the locations other candidates' signs were left untouched. This can only lead to one conclusion, our campaign is the target of 'dirty politics.' We must be doing something right,” says Jonathan Barbee.

If you have any information regarding these events please contact any of the mentioned Police departments or call (205) 201-0049. If an arrest is made from your information, you could be eligible for the $1,000 reward.

Ginger Barbee is running against Sherri Friday for Jefferson County Probate Judge place 2.
