Johnine P. Barnes, a shareholder in the Washington, D.C. office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, was recently invited for membership in the Washington, D.C. Chapter of International Women's Forum (IWF).

The IWF brings together an unprecedented global membership of 5,000 women leaders in 24 nations in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and North America to exchange ideas, to learn and inspire, and to promote better leadership for a changing world. Barnes is an active member of the legal community in Washington, D.C. as well as nationwide. Recently, she was named 2012 "Outstanding Outside Counsel of the Year" by the National Bar Association Commercial Law Section and listed in Super Lawyers magazine, Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers (2012).
A shareholder in the Labor & Employment Practice Group, Barnes has more than a decade of experience litigating and defending companies, government agencies and associations. She focuses her practice on administrative claims of harassment; retaliation and discrimination on the basis of age, race, sex and disability; wrongful discharge and breach of contract issues; and client compliance with the American With Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and other federal and state statutes governing employment.
