Theatre Publisher To Unveil New Audience-Focused Website

FootLights Publishing, Inc., says its website is undergoing a major re-design that will make going to theatre a more personal experience. The theatre publisher and marketer says the new site will provide theatre-goers with expanded search options and extensive content about Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay Area theatre.

Footlights Publishing Inc., a leading integrated media publisher of cross-marketed theatre programs and theatre marketing platforms, plans to unveil a new, re-designed FootLights website in November 2012.

The newly redesigned site will target theatre audiences as well as FootLights’ core theatre market. The theatre marketer says their new site will make it easier for audiences to find shows in the Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay markets and provide theatres with more unique tools to promote their shows.

Peter Finlayson, CEO and editor of FootLights Publishing, Inc., says they are creating partnerships with theatres to establish a sizable searchable database of plays in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. The new FootLights site also will provide a myriad of options to help theatre audiences get more information and feel better equipped to make educated ticket buying decisions. All of this will be revealed when the new site goes live in November.

“We’re about to make going to theatre more personal,” says Finlayson. “Our new website search capabilities will allow theatre lovers to perform a detailed search for shows that best fit their personal preferences and our content will expose them to new possibilities in theatre.”

Footlights started in 2008 providing affordable, fully customizable playbills for small to large theatres. Nearly five years later, the publisher has expanded into the digital arena with social media, a weekly Passport to Theatre e-blast and now an audience-focused online presence. Its goal is to engage audiences and create a more robust theatre-going community.

“We have said all along that FootLights is working to draw audiences together to celebrate and commune on theatre,” said Finlayson. “This is the next step in our mission to nourish that function and we are excited to continue moving forward on that promise.”
