BlueGriffon EPUB Edition is fully conformant to EPUB2 and EPUB3 and hides the technical complexity to the user. It's the missing link in the ebook editorial chain.
SAINT-GERMAIN EN LAYE (FRANCE) (PRWEB) October 30, 2012
BlueGriffon EPUB Edition, a new WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor for EPUB2 and EPUB3 ebooks, was released last week for Linux, Macintosh and Microsoft Windows. Powered by Gecko, the rendering engine of Mozilla, and based on the popular BlueGriffon Web editor, it is currently the only Wysiwyg editor able to natively create, edit and save EPUB2 and EPUB3 electronic books without relying on a proprietary pivot format. Easy to use, BlueGriffon EPUB Edition aims at drastically improving current editorial chains, too often based on products implementing only partly the EPUB Standards or only exporting to EPUB.
BlueGriffon EPUB Edition was implemented in strict conformance to IDPF and W3C specifications, making it simple to author EPUB ebooks that validate against the Standards. It then offers unprecedented direct manipulation of all EPUB2 and EPUB3 metadata and content documents.
Because the BlueGriffon Web Editor lives in it, it has exceptional HTML 5 and CSS 3 support. On the HTML front, all elements are supported including the video and audio elements. One the CSS side, the built-in Style Properties panel and the more professional CSS Editor give the user full UI-based control on CSS stylesheets, including a visual builder for CSS Selectors.
BlueGriffon EPUB Edition embedding the popular 'SVG Edit' add-on for Firefox and a MathML editor, it is then easy even for non-technical users to add SVG-based vectorial graphics and scientific formulas to any content document in an EPUB ebook. Accessibility is also an important axis for BlueGriffon EPUB Edition, the editor offering a simple user interface to manipulate the most important ARIA attributes.
BlueGriffon EPUB Edition is a WYSIWYG Web editor, meaning that HTML pages will render in BlueGriffon EPUB Edition exactly as they render in a browser-based ebook reader and that all the user's editing work can be done in that view instead of directly typing HTML or CSS code. Of course, more advanced users can toggle between the WYSIWYG editing view and the HTML code view. To see more features of BlueGriffon EPUB Edition, visit http://www.bluegriffon-epubedition.com.
"The EPUB Standards are known to be difficult to create and edit, requiring a lot of technical knowledge. BlueGriffon EPUB Edition is fully conformant to EPUB2 and EPUB3 and hides all technical complexity to the user. It's the missing link in the ebook editorial chain", said Daniel Glazman, CEO of Disruptive Innovations SAS.
BlueGriffon EPUB Edition is currently available in English and French. The cross-platform editor works on Microsoft Windows (XP, Vista, 7), Apple Mac OS X, and many Linux-based systems.
