Hill Country Payroll, a Central Texas payroll processing company that serves small and mid-sized businesses, today announced it will acquire the payroll business from Austin-based Your HR Group. The purchase agreement was finalized the first week of October and the transaction is expected to close in early November.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed, but it is based on a multiple of the Your HR Group annual revenue. The acquisition will increase the number of Hill Country Payroll customers and revenue by an estimated 65 percent.
“The new customers Hill Country Payroll gains through this acquisition will experience the same outstanding service we have built our business on over the last 17 years,” said Writ Baese, co-owner and president of Hill Country Payroll.
Baese said that the acquisition is a perfect fit because both businesses utilize the same payroll processing software, serve the same types of clients, and Hill Country Payroll already has offices in the Austin area.
“We anticipate a very smooth transition,” he said.
Customers will experience little change in the day-to-day processes, and the reports they receive will not change. Current Your HR Group customers will continue to use the same web-based tools for payroll processing and timekeeping. With the level of software experience among the Hill Country Payroll leadership team, new customers can expect to learn even more effective ways to leverage the payroll processing tools to best benefit their businesses.
With the acquisition, the payroll business moves to Hill Country Payroll, and the human resources business transitions to Your HR Group’s partner company, Austin HR, which is led by David Hughen and Laurie Howell.
