Worldwide Power Products (WPP), a power-generation equipment provider to industrial clients worldwide, has tapped Richard Fletcher for the position of Sales Director of the service division. In this capacity, Fletcher will focus mainly on sales and service for municipalities, municipal utility districts (MUDs), fire departments, school districts and contracting firms. Fletcher will be responsible for developing a sales program and increasing market share within this customer base.
“I am very pleased to be hired by such a well-respected company as WPP, especially when it allows me to work with cities and municipal agencies,” said Fletcher. “These government entities are expected to be increasingly conservative, fiscally, yet still deliver an enhanced level of service to their citizens. I look forward to helping them accomplish those goals.”
Prior to joining WPP, Fletcher worked for nearly a decade in account management, business development and project management for companies that specialize in working with municipal entities. Fletcher currently serves on the School Board of St. Cecelia Catholic School and is President of the Intercontinental Municipal Utility District.
“Municipalities and their associated agencies, such as fire departments and utility districts, have special challenges when it comes to generator service and maintenance,” said WPP Executive VP Mark Lum at the announcement. “Many are now required to have permanent standby generators for emergency power but lack the technical staff and resources to handle service and maintenance in house. Richard’s considerable experience with municipalities gives him the expertise to help these clients align their objectives and budget with WPP’s service and maintenance offerings.”
