Greencastle, IN (PRWEB) October 26, 2012
Electronics Technicians Association International (ETA) recently hosted the annual ETA Education Forum in Greencastle, Indiana at the Inn at DePauw. ETA was fortunate to have professionals from Canada, Guam, Holland and Kuwait in attendance, in addition to those from many US states.
ETA’s mission is to provide educators and technicians with accredited certification in today’s most in-demand occupations. Bringing this valuable training to technicians at an affordable rate is one way for ETA to honor its association commitment. With the generosity of sponsors such as the Consortium for Certified Service Centers, Corning Cable Systems, Knipex Tools, American Technical Publishers, OSP Magazine, Amatrol, Wiley Publishing, CABA, and The Light Brigade, ETA was able to offer this event and training at low cost to attendees.
This year’s Education Forum hosted the Motorola Communication Site Installation Practices (R56) training and Corning Cable Systems’ TS-LAN-500 Hands-On Comprehensive Installation Technology Course for Optical Multimode and Single-Mode Local Area Networks.
The 2012 ETA Education Forum was filled with powerful general sessions including: Lightning and Grounding Protection from Harger Lightning Protection; a special wireless communications course led by Ira Wiesenfeld (named as one of the top 21 mission-critical engineers by MissionCritical Communications Magazine in November/December 2011); Antenna Testing and the Importance of PIM Testing in Wireless Networks as well as RF Site Safety, presented by Tom Dover; Cellular Wireless, How We Got Where We Are, presented by John Baldwin; Renewable Energy Integrators and the Reality Show presented by Chet Kolodziej and Stephen Fleeman; An Adventure: Developing a New Transformer and Developing New Magnetic Material Tests, presented by Harrie Buswell; and many more.
Renowned authors were also present at this year’s Education Forum. Jay Warmke, author of “When the BioMass Hits the Wind Turbine”, Gary Rockis, author of “Solid State Devices and Systems”, and Bill Woodward, co‐author of “Cabling: The Complete Guide to Copper and Fiber‐Optic Networking,” 4th Edition, were available for signings of the latest editions of their books.
Technology Forecaster Jim Brazell delivered the Keynote Speech, “Cyber World: Discover the Role of Electronics Systems Technicians in U.S. Workforce Competitiveness, Security, and Innovation.”
ETA’s Education Forum is also the venue for the Annual ETA Membership Meeting and installation of the new Board of Directors during the ETA Annual Awards Banquet. See the complete biographies of the new officers on ETA’s website at: http://www.eta-i.org/2012-13%20ETA%20Officer%20Bios.pdf
More and more educators and technicians continue to discover the ETA Education Forum and the remarkable value it offers. ETA works hard to offer the event to educators and technicians from around the world at a reasonable price and is very pleased with the successful professional development opportunities found at the event.
