Kent Moyer, President and CEO of The World Protection Group, spoke at the Arizona Relocation Alliance (ARA) on September 20, 2012. This meeting, held in Tempe, Arizona, focused on border security issues facing travelers into Mexico and other areas of Latin America. The panel discussion was reported to be a great success. Wells Fargo Bank and professional services company KPMG sponsored the event.
KPMG’s offices in Tempe, Arizona hosted the meeting. Registration, breakfast, and networking began at 8:00 a.m., followed by the main event from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Speakers included not only Kent Moyer, but also Jerry Wilson of Intel and Jochen Gliss of Freeport McMoran. Event organizers hoped the panel would provide policy insight, process and anecdotal input concerning their position representing their companies’ expat security. ARA recruited Joseph Pernaselli, global professional in human resources (GPHR), to host and co-anchor the agenda.
ARA reported that their September General Meeting was a very informative presentation. Tailored to the numerous companies with offices or operations just across the border into Mexico, the agenda focused on Mexico security, travel risks, and safety strategies. ARA hoped the discussion would expand into security issues for other Latin American countries as well. Their own review described it as “a riveting discussion on risk and security by our panel of experts.” One professional in attendance said, "I learned so much from the panel—loved it!"
Well suited to speak at the convention, Moyer is not only the president and CEO of the World Protection Group, but its owner and founder, as well. Moyer directs the growth and focus of the Beverly Hills based firm. His expertise comes from over 2,000 hours of training in dignitary and executive protection, direct field experience, and participation in numerous security and law enforcement organizations. Not only an alumnus of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, Moyer also graduated from the Executive Security Institute (ESI), the National Law Enforcement Training Center (NLETC), and the Los Angeles and Orange County Sheriff's Academy. Moyer also holds a black belt in karate.
The ARA celebrates its one year anniversary as an organization this fall. Formed to educate relocation professionals in Arizona and the surrounding region, ARA meetings help supply Certified Reliability Professional (CRP) credits to its attendees. These credits count towards certifying with the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council (WERC). Events hosted by the ARA are open to members and non-members alike.
