London’s Saatchi gallery will next month play host to one of Europe’s most important showcase of watchmaking, and to celebrate the occasion, Watches of Switzerland are pleased to be able to offer customers a 20% discount on all Friday and Saturday tickets purchased.
Now in its fourth year after being created by James Gurney, editor of QP magazine, the SalonQP exhibition returns to the capital next month, bringing with it presentations, workshops and a host of incredible luxury watches to experience.
More than 40 brands are estimated to be at the exhibition which will take place at the Saatchi gallery’s impressive Chelsea site, among them elite watchmakers such as Chopard, Bell & Ross, U-Boat and NOMOS Glashütte.
The Tag Heuer MikrotourbillonS and Jaeger-LeCoultre Sphérotourbillon are likely to form the talk of the exhibition. The MikrotourbillonS has been described as the most impressive watch ever made by the brand, a double tourbillon chronograph that can time events to within one hundredth of a second, whilst the exquisite Duomètre Sphérotourbillon from Jaeger-LeCoultre is regarded as one of the most precise tourbillion movement watches ever produced.
SalonQP presents a rare opportunity to meet and greet the innovators behind some of the most exciting independent watchmaking brands and is the only UK event of its kind to bring such a diverse group of horologists and timepiece collectors together.
Any horology enthusiasts wishing to get their hands dirty can experience watch-making in extreme style by attending the Masterclass workshop with the technicians from Jaeger-LeCoultre. Also on the schedule will be unmissable round-table talks with some of the watchmaking industry’s most influential people, including Maria Doulton of The Jewellery Editor who will be leading a discussion on the unique art of making women’s watches.
Fans looking for a timepiece from emerging British watch-making brands should also be well catered-to with the brand-new ‘Best of British’ stand, as well as a screening of a film about the noted British watchmaker Dr George Daniels entitled ‘The Watchmaker’s Apprentice’.
Entertainment packages are available to those wishing to entertain guests and take in the VIP experience at SalonQP. Special events include a champagne reception, behind-the-scenes access and intimate tours of the exhibition by some of the leading names in the industry.
