On October 31, Colle Farmers Market commends an article published by The Milford Daily News regarding the success of Ashland Farmers Market, which recently closed for business for the season. Colle applauds Ashland Farmers Market for their community impact and impressive season.

With over 24 food vendors and 18 local artisans the Ashland Farmers Market, organized by committee member Florence Seidell, “first opened on June 9 on the plot of land at 125 Front St. More than 1,000 patrons attended the grand opening event. Subsequent markets saw between 500 and 600 customers browse and do business with the various food and artisan vendors,” reports The Milford Daily News.

The Milford Daily News quoted Seidell stating, “Two aspects of the Ashland market that attributed to its success were the World Foragers Stage, where some 17 bands serenaded the market with music each Saturday, and the Kid's Corner, which offered activities for the children at the market.” In the article Seidell states that children were encouraging parents on Saturday mornings and demanding that they go to the market. “[Children] were the driving force,” said Seidell.

Colle Farmers Market congratulates the Ashland Farmers Market on its first year success and wishes it many more to follow. Colle proudly supports local farmers market communities and applauds Ashland Farmers Market for bringing together their community.

According to the Milford Daily News a reassessment meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ashland Public Library, 66 Front St. by The Ashland Farmers Market organizers.
