Blowing North for a limited two-show engagement, Rev Billy brings the Shopocalypse to Toronto

With buy-nothing-day fast approaching, Reverend Billy Talen and Nehemiah Luckett of the Church of Stop Shopping Choir are bringing their anti-consumerism message to Toronto, Canada.

Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping is an interventionist, activist performance group based in New York City that uses the form of an evangelistic revival meeting to preach about the perils of consumerism and to advocate for economic justice and environmental sustainability.

The duo will host two events on Friday, November 9th at the University of Toronto.

First, the Reverend and Nehemiah will hold a midday lecture and demonstration at the Robert Gill Theatre, located at 214 College St., from 1pm to 3pm.

This afternoon demonstration will be followed by an evening performance at the university’s Studio Theater located at 4 Glen Morris St.

Both events are free admission, however you must RSVP to the evening event at publicity.graddama(at)utoronto(dot)ca.
