It’s being called the most romantic house in the country, and would you believe that home is right here in the valley.
Amazingdwellings.com named the Biltmore-area home the most romantic in America and Fox 10 News, KSAZ-TV in Phoenix, featrured the home
It has 4 bedrooms, 5 baths and you’re going to love all 5,300 square feet.
From the relaxing reflection pool to the cozy fire pits, this 2 1/2 acre property captures the heart of everyone who enters.
“It’s in the middle of Phoenix and here lies a secret garden,” says owner Kristin Jacob.
Kristin Jacob named the home Il Segreto – Italian for secret. She’s the home’s third owner since it was built in 1935. She turned the decades old house into an enchanting home.
“We did obviously some plantings around but the trees were here and we were lucky it’s one of the reasons that we fell in love with the property.”
The forest-like front yard leads you into the European adobe-style home.
“It’s really really comfortable and warm and it gives you a great feeling when you walk in.”
Jacob kept the original ceiling beams and concrete floors, but added glamorous chandeliers in every room.
“Most of the chandeliers in the home were either from France or Belgium and they’re all antiques.”
Along with art from around the world. Jacob used soft colors and clean lines throughout the home.
“I wanted to walk in and just keep it very very calm and neutral and then let the gardens come in from the outside and give you splashes of color that way,” says Jacob.
My favorite part about this home is all four bedrooms each have their own courtyard.
“When people come and stay with us, couples definitely have their own privacy and they love it. They can sleep late or go outside, sit on their patio, they love it you know it’s private.”
Although her talent shows in every detail, Jacob was pleasantly surprised by the title of “most romantic home.”
“It’s nice that people are recognizing it for such a romantic place that I wanted it to be when I started the project.”
There’s also a full pool, a library and a guest house. The home is for sale with Russ Lyon Sotheby’s Realty — it’s going for $4.7 million.
