The Snugg react to iPad Mini Release after Apple Officially Unveil Product

Technology giants Apple have officially unveiled the iPad Mini after months of speculation. Online retailers The Snugg reveal their excitement and predict a significant boost in cover sales.

After months of speculation, Apple has officially unveiled the iPad Mini in an attempt to rival similar competitors with a 7” touch screen.

Apple have described it as, “Every inch an iPad”, with a 7.9 inch display and featuring the same number of pixels to the iPad 2, allowing users to run more than 275,000 apps designed specifically for iPad.

The device will be available to pre-order from the end of October and will go on sale as early as November 2nd. Experts are already predicting the product will have a major influence on the market with reports suggesting component suppliers had received official orders to produce millions of units before the Christmas period.

The Wall Street Journal has revealed suppliers in Asia have received orders to make more than 10 million units of the smaller tablets in the final quarter of 2012, roughly double the order size that was placed for Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablets released earlier this year in the UK.

The figure is a clear indication of Apple’s intention to dominate the smaller tablet market and believes the demand for the product will be strong, despite stiff competition including Google’s Nexus and Amazon’s Kindle range.

In the final quarter of last year Apple sold a total of 17 million iPads, an increase of 84 per cent from the previous year and a demand for 10 million iPad Minis could give a significant boost to Apple’s expected overall iPad sales over the Christmas period.

In reaction to the recent rumours, iPad accessories retailer The Snugg revealed their excitement for a more compact, lightweight iPad. Speaking on behalf of the company, Les Yates stated, “We have been anticipating the release of the iPad Mini ever since the rumour started to surface and are all eager to see how it will stack up against its competitors.

“We have already released our range of iPad Mini covers and accessories in preparation for the holidays and are expected a particularly busy period over the next couple of months with the announcement of both the Mini and the iPad 4.”
