Sales Consultant Nick Trigg of Conservatory Outlet Dealer Mid Wales Windows & Conservatories is in the running to be named Sales Professional of the Year after impressing judges in a competition organised by FIT Show.
Nick made it to the final three salesmen after being grilled by a panel of judges; in what is the first independent national competition ever to be held for professional glazing sales consultants in the UK.
His rivals for the title are Ed Burgess from Countryside Home Improvements; and Adrian Phillips from Nolan uPVC. Since the shortlist was announced, the three men have been put through their paces and have had to demonstrate their sales skills on camera to a team of specially trained actors.
The three contenders arrived at a location in Manchester one by one as they tried to persuade a ‘married couple’ to purchase new windows. The actors has been specially trained to ask appropriate questions designed to test the knowledge, customer service and professionalism of each consultant, and to make sure that each had a tough but fair assignment.
It comes as little surprise that a network salesman has progressed so far in the competition. Earlier this year Conservatory Outlet delivered a seven-day retail sales training course to many of its retail sales advisors to help them fine tune the way they assist homeowners who are in the market for new windows, doors, conservatories and orangeries.
The FIT (Fabricator and Installer Trade) Show is a brand new event aimed at fabricators and installers involved in the UK window, door and conservatory industry and the Sales Professional of the Year competition is one of many ways that the show will demonstrate the high standards of product and service that exists in the double glazing industry today.
The ultimate winner of the Sales Professional of the Year competition will be awarded with a £10,000 cash prize - split between themselves and their employer - which will be announced at The FIT Show Gala Dinner and Awards on the evening of 17th April.
