The North Carolina Consumers Council (NCCC), a nonprofit organization promoting consumer education, consumer awareness and consumer protection in North Carolina since 1968, is thrilled to announce the addition of Lorillard Federal Credit Union to its list of North Carolina credit union partners.
This new credit union affiliation will give members of the Consumers Council eligibility to join and apply for accounts at any Lorillard Federal Credit Union branch. Lorillard joins Premier Federal Credit Union, Coastal Federal Credit Union and Members Credit Union, who also offer all NCCC members full credit union services.
“The North Carolina Consumers Council continues our commitment to promoting the tremendous benefits that credit unions have to offer,” said Sandra Bullock, NCCC President. “We want to do everything we can to make these superior financial services available to consumers everywhere. We are very excited to welcome Lorillard to the NCCC family.”
Bullock also points out that credit unions are member-owned non-profit cooperatives. So unlike for-profit banks, any money a credit union makes goes back into the credit union in the form of lower fees, better rates, and a great variety of outstanding new services and offerings for its members. Bullock says that the customer service offered by credit unions is also unparalleled.
“Our new affiliation with Lorillard will give NCCC the ability to continue expanding our reach, allowing us to educate and assist as many consumers as possible,” continued Bullock. We look forward to working with Lorillard to promote consumer issues important to its members and surrounding communities.”
Headquartered in Greensboro, NC, Lorillard Federal Credit Union was established in October 1965 by ten Lorillard Tobacco Company employees, which were also its first ten members. Today, while Lorillard is no longer directly associated with the tobacco company, the credit union currently has more than 4,600 members. Financial strength and stability continue to be the focus of the Lorillard management team.
NCCC members can apply for membership at Lorillard Federal Credit Union, Premier Federal Credit Union, Coastal Federal Credit Union or Members Credit Union at any time. For anyone needing eligibility, the North Carolina Consumers Council can give you that eligibility instantly. Join online or contact any NCCC affiliated credit union statewide for more information on your options.
If you are a credit union that would like to inquire about becoming a partner with the North Carolina Consumers Council, feel free to contact NCCC at any time for additional information.
