UCF Federal Credit Union (UCF FCU), a division of CFE Federal Credit Union, will award one lucky University of Central Florida student (UCF) $5,000 to help with tuition expenses.
The sweepstakes entitled, “15 Favs for a Chance to Win $5,000 Towards Tuition”, invites eligible UCF students to share photos of their favorite college memories, using Instagram (#15UCFfavs) or Facebook. The photos must be taken with a paper cutout of UCF FCU’s mascot, Jack the Jester, available at any UCF FCU branch location or on its website, ucffedcu.org/15UCFfavs. Students may share up to fifteen photos, and each submission is an entry into the random drawing for the five thousand dollar grand prize. The more photos a participant shares, the better his or her odds of winning.
In addition, uploaded photos are displayed in a gallery on UCF FCU’s Facebook page, and each week during the sweepstakes period, one photo receiving the most votes will win fifty dollars. In the event of a tie the winner will be chosen by a random drawing.
The sweepstakes is a brand awareness campaign targeting UCF students to raise attention to UCF FCU’s on-campus presence. With a branch conveniently located in the John T. Washington Center, plus multiple ATMs throughout campus, UCF FCU has been serving the UCF community for over 40 years. In November, 2011 the credit union merged with $1.3 billion CFE Federal Credit Union (CFE), greatly expanding its services and branch locations.
"Surprisingly, many students are not aware that UCF Federal Credit Union is on campus, and they don’t realize the advantages of banking with a credit union,” said Suzanne Dusch, Vice President of Marketing. “By tapping into the students’ fascination with photo sharing on social media, we’ve created a campaign whose reach increases exponentially with participation. When students pose for pictures with Jack the Jester, our version of a Flat Stanley, everyone who sees the photo also sees our campaign message. When students come into the branch or visit our website to get a copy of Jack, we can explain the benefits of credit union membership.”
The sweepstakes is scheduled to end December 15, 2012 and the winner of the five thousand dollars will be announced December 31, 2012.
