Orange, CA (PRWEB) October 30, 2012
Nationally renowned motivational youth speaker and leadership consultant Scott Greenberg will collaborate with Rotary International District 5300 on their annual Teen Leadership Camp located at the Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center in Orange, CA. Scheduled for November 2-4, 2012, the camp will provide motivation, leadership training and service learning opportunities for 145 8th graders coming from the San Gabriel Valley, the Inland Empire, and High Desert regions of Southern California, as well as from Southern Nevada, including Las Vegas. Students are sponsored by the district’s 69 clubs throughout the region.
Started in 2000 by Greenberg and Rotary Conference Chair Roger Schulte, TLC has trained hundreds of student leaders. The program is now in its 12th year. Greenberg has been a motivational youth speaker since 1993.
“I’m very proud of my partnership with Rotary District 5300 and what we’ve been able to accomplish with the program,” says Greenberg. “We’ve watched students transform over the weekend and go to succeed in high school, college and beyond.” Many former students who attended the program as 8th graders also return as group counselors while in high school.
TLC emphasizes personal growth and service learning. Students listen to motivational talks, attend workshops and participate in a variety of activities that enhance their leadership skills. The program has inspired similar programs in Rotary Districts 5330 and 5340, who also bring in Greenberg to facilitate. Rotary District 5300 has honored Scott for his work on this program and named him a Paul Harris Fellow.
