62 percent of career women fear they may never have enough money to retire.
Staten Island, New York (PRWEB) October 31, 2012
Women of all ages seeking to embrace their financial futures with confidence, rather than trepidation, won’t want to miss the upcoming Staten Island presentation of “Planning Your Financial Journey; An Interactive Roadmap for Today’s Woman.” The free seminar, sponsored by John Calabrese Financial, an office of MetLife, will take place on Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. in Lorenzo's Restaurant at the Hilton Garden Inn; 1100 South Ave., in the Staten Island community of Bloomfield, and on Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. in Hunter’s Steak & Ale House, 9404 4th Ave., Brooklyn.
Men and women face a lifetime of financial decisions. However, women often need to deal with additional challenges of their own, beginning with lower salaries. According to a White House report published earlier this year, women continue to earn less than men, and data from the MetLife Mature Market Institute study, “Finances and Females Executives,” reported that 62 percent of career women fear they may never have enough money to retire.
“This educational presentation will address the financial concerns of women in various stages of life, whether single, married, partnered, widowed or divorced,” said Michelle DeNisco, a junior partner of John Calabrese Financial, an office of MetLife, with locations in Bloomfield, Brooklyn and Manhattan.
“Each audience member will benefit, whether fresh out of school and entering the workforce for the first time, committed to a long-term career in the coming years, nearing retirement, or already retired,” said Ms. DeNisco, who will conduct the seminar along with Michael A. DiMauro, a Staten Island-based elder care and estate planning attorney.
A variety of topics will be addressed by Ms. DeNisco during the seminar, including: The Changing Face of Women and What It Could Mean to You; Taking Charge of Your Financial Future; Wealth Management; Reaching Your Financial Milestones; Financial Tips For Women to Consider During Each Decade of Their Lives, and Reference Tools You Can Use To Learn More. Mr. DiMauro additionally will provide an overview of estate planning, discussing such subjects as wills, trusts, powers of attorney and health care proxies.
“The seminar is designed to help women take charge of their financial futures, and plan for financial milestones in every stage of life,” Ms. DeNisco said. “It will provide valuable information that will empower our guests on their financial journey, and give them the encouragement to share this information with other important women in their lives.”
