Piedmont RIA through its affiliate Militello Capital, is pleased to announce it made a venture capital investment in ExecOnline, Inc .
ExecOnline is partnering with elite business schools to offer highly interactive online executive education programs to Fortune 500 companies. Each business school partner will leverage ExecOnline’s cutting-edge learning management system, world-class instructional design capabilities and deep sales and marketing expertise. These partnerships allow Fortune 500 companies to provide their managers with quality learning opportunities from elite business schools at a fraction of the costs associated with traditional on-campus programs.
Stephen Bailey, the Founder of ExecOnline and former CEO of Frontier Strategy Group (a portfolio company of Spark Capital), states, “ExecOnline is transforming the multi-billion dollar corporate education market by providing Fortune 500 companies with access to elite executive education offerings that are scalable across the enterprise through an online delivery model. We are very excited to have Piedmont as an investment partner as we capitalize on this massive opportunity.”
According to Matt Brady, Piedmont’s Managing Director, “the executive education market is ripe for disruption. Stephen and his team have brought large enterprise educational program offerings to a new level and we are excited to be a part of it.”
Exec Online is helping elite business schools bring their non-degree and/or certification courses directly to mid and senior level executives in a manner that is relevant to the enterprise while maintaining the integrity of the school’s brand.
The VC investment in ExecOnline, Inc. is one of many made by Militello Capital through its new venture capital fund.
Piedmont RIA, also known as Piedmont Investment Advisors, LLC is located in Lansdowne (Leesburg) Virginia and a registered investment adviser under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. When Bill Militello, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, founded Piedmont RIA in 2003, he set out to create not just another financial advisor or boutique investment firm, but rather to create a new “category” in financial services.
His view is that the delivery of investment advice by financial advisors was ripe for innovation, and it has been Militello’s vision to challenge the conventional model. He believes that asset allocation should not be constrained to just the public financial markets. To execute this philosophy, Piedmont RIA has developed a revolutionary investment model that is composed of three interdependent concepts: Liquidity, Wealth Creation, and Wealth Preservation.
