“Design for the web is user friendly no matter how corporate the look and feel, the same way architectural designs are pedestrian centered no matter how contemporary the construction," says Hassan Bawab, Founder and CEO of Magic Logix.

Magic Logix covered a recent important design event that took place in Dallas, Texas: The annual John Staub Awards held by the Texas Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art at the Dallas Country Club on October 20th, 2012. The awards ceremony was standing room only and was a sight to see and a pleasure to take in, no surprise given that top regional, national and world famous architects were in attendance.

With Web design and architectural design, there is no chicken and egg question, brick and mortar architecture indisputably preceded the Web.

Magic Logix Dallas based global digital marketing agency covered the event for its blog to raise awareness about the influence of classic architecture on digital design to help the digital world continue benefit from the influence.

“Classic architectural structure and design preceded the Web, and continue to influence it,” says Hassan Bawab, Founder and CEO of Magic Logix. “Design for the web is user friendly no matter how corporate the look and feel, the same way architectural designs are pedestrian centered no matter how contemporary the construction.”

“The layouts of many ‘contemporary’ buildings are actually classic,” says John Sebastian, President of the Texas Chapter of the ICAA, architect and owner of Sebastian Construction Group.

Cole Smith was presented with the Board of Director’s award, which was referred to as an ambiguous award that in his case was for Most Fascinating Person. Smith and his firm have served the Hunt Family for about 50 years. “Classic architecture centers on design for people to be comfortable using the structure as well as being attractive,” says Smith.
