It was truly enjoyable being able to make people’s day when we dropped them a line to tell them they’d won!

Airport transfer specialists Mountain Drop-offs is celebrating the successful completion of a major Facebook campaign.
The Chamonix-based business joined forces with eyewear specialists Julbo to give away 40 pairs of sports sunglasses during its first social media promotional campaign.
Launched in the summer, the sweepstake gave everyone travelling from Geneva to a host of alpine resorts the chance to enter the competition to win MonteRosa or MonteBianco glasses by becoming a Facebook fan and entering the competition online.
Every time the fan counter clocked up another 25 likes, a lucky winner was pulled from the ‘virtual’ hat. The result was that several hundred people took part with winners drawn from all over Europe including England, Scotland, Wales, Sweden, France, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Turkey.
The campaign was designed to celebrate the brand partnership between Julbo and Mountain Drop-offs and formed the first phase of plans to expand the social media outreach for both companies.
The list of winners was: Steve Barrell, Andy Davies, Klaus Enhard, Laura Allen, Craig Armitage, Sandra Ewart, Denis O'Brien, Mark Moore, Rich Cross, Steve Char, Barry Roberts, Carrie Craig, Cedric Roulle, Julie Kenny, Marie Claude Hastings, Hasan Sesigurgil, Colin Rafferty, Gary Biles, Andy Brown, Sean McIllrow, Colin Warrillow, Sophie Spread, Rebecca Mauger, William Summers, Robert Partridge, Oriol Roda, Matt Fisher, Ambrogio McClintock, Heather Swift, Jack D'Gama, Charlotte Everard, Ian Bain, Francois Raffoul, Jon White, Joan, Lawrence Tierney, Nora Fleming, David Wilde, Mark Jorgensen and Susan Swinton.
“We are delighted with the results of the Julbo competition,” said Simon Hills, Mountain Drop-offs’ managing director. “We have been working with our promotional partner Julbo now for several months and they were a huge support, providing the prizes and also some great images too.
“The feedback from customers old and new who took part has also been hugely positive, as witnessed by the expansion of the fan base. It was truly enjoyable being able to make people’s day when we dropped them a line to tell them they’d won!”
