Xoom Corporation, a global online money transfer provider, won the grand prize in this year’s ANA Multicultural Excellence Awards, presented Monday night in Miami. Leading Hispanic advertising agency, Dieste, and Xoom submitted a winning entry in the Hispanic category for the “Save the Pigs” campaign; specifically winning as 2012 best campaign developed to reach Hispanic consumers from among seventy-five entries. The three finalists in the Hispanic category included Xoom with the agency Dieste, General Motors with Latin Works, and Kraft Foods North America with McGarry Bowen.
"Xoom wanted to create a new brand identity that takes a challenger stance against the confusing and high fees often found in the world of offline money transfers. Dieste created powerful work that resonated with consumers and drove business results," says Julian King, Xoom’s Senior Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Development. “We are impressed with Dieste's talent and ability to combine creative ideas with a technology product, which is key to growing our business.”
“We are very excited and honored to receive the ANA Multicultural Excellence Award. There's nothing more rewarding for us than creating work for our clients that helps them engage with customers in a measurable way, and that also wins creative awards," says Dieste’s President and Chief Creative Officer Aldo Quevedo.
The "Save the Pigs" campaign illustrates that “with all the tricky fees that other money transfer companies use to engage their customers, the real victims are your piggy banks.” The campaign was launched in April 2012.
King says that immigrants come to this country with the great expectation of making enough money to give their loved ones back home a better life: “We know they work really hard for their money, so every dollar counts. At Xoom we offer our customers a service that is safe, convenient, fast and fairly priced, and thanks to breakthrough mobile technology, the ability to send money from wherever our customers need. It all starts with respect for the customer and a passion for improving their money transfer experiences.”
Xoom is a global online money transfer provider, focused on helping consumers send money in a secure, fast and cost-effective way using their mobile phone, tablet or computer.
