Wideo.co, a do-it-yourself animation video creation platform, has been chosen to participate in 500 Startups accelerator program, becoming one of the first Argentine companies accepted. The company’s target is startups seeking to create demos, teachers wanting a new way to appeal to students and anyone wanting to express themselves in a different way. The acceptance into the 500 Startups accelerator program allows the company to put themselves in front of members of Silicon Valley, making them part of a family that includes companies such as Wildfire Interactive, who was recently bought by Google for $350 million USD.
Wideo was invited to participate in the Fall class of the accelerator program, chosen as one of the 33 companies to enter the program. “We’re really excited that 500 Startups has chosen us as part of the accelerator program,” said Wideo Co-Founder Agu De Marco, “this allows us to show how far Argentine companies can go and the impact we can make on the world of video." “We have a strong interest in video and have made a number of investments in video startups. So Wideo is a natural fit for the 500 family.” said Christine Tsai, Partner at 500 Startups. “They're one of the first companies direct from Argentina to be participating in the accelerator program, which we're also very excited about."
