Fairfax, Va. (PRWEB) October 31, 2012
Boulder Crest Retreat, http://www.bouldercrestretreat.org, a rural sanctuary for wounded military warriors and their families – which is currently under construction in Bluemont, Virginia – is one of the local charities that will benefit from the 9th Annual American Freedom Festival Washington, presented by SKYDEX and CareerBuilder. The event will be held on Saturday, November 10 at 7:30 p.m., at the Patriot Center at George Mason University and will feature performances by legendary rock bands, Chicago and Kansas.
The American Freedom Foundation hosts this annual concert to honor U.S. Veterans and men and women of America’s armed forces, while benefiting various organizations that serve and support veterans, active duty military, wounded warriors and their families, throughout the country. Ken Falke, a retired U.S. Navy EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) Technician and founder of Boulder Crest Retreat, will join American Freedom Foundation representatives on stage to accept a grant from the Foundation. When Boulder Crest opens in 2013, the retreat center will provide lodging accommodations, non-clinical therapies and recreational activities for wounded military warriors and their families.
“I am very grateful to the American Freedom Foundation for selecting Boulder Crest Retreat as a grant recipient in 2012,”said Ken Falke, Boulder Crest Retreat founder. “This donation, combined with last year’s grant award, brings us even closer to realizing our mission of opening our doors, to provide a rural, therapeutic setting for wounded warriors to help them recover. I want to personally thank the Foundation for its generous and continued support of Boulder Crest.”
In addition to the benefit concert, the American Freedom Foundation and CareerBuilder are hosting the 2nd annual Veterans Career Hiring Event at the Patriot Center, earlier that day, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 10. This exciting new addition to the American Freedom Festival Washington will bring together major companies from throughout the Washington Capitol Region, to profile their services and employment opportunities for veterans. Attending military veterans will have the chance to talk with employers, submit qualifications, and even participate in job interviews. Attendance at the Veterans Career Hiring Event is free and open to veterans and active duty military.
