Turanto, the new rapid mobile and web application platform, attracted heavy interest yesterday at Virginia’s Public Procurement Forum 2012 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, Va.

Hundreds of state and municipal government procurement professionals visited the Turanto display booth during the Forum’s Supplier Expo yesterday, in an effort to learn more about the cloud-based tool that allows anyone to develop feature-rich, working web and mobile applications in minutes without programming.

“We met with a number of procurement and supply chain professionals who are trying to operate more efficiently through process automation but can’t find a solution that meets their needs and their budgets,” said Mark Murphy, senior account manager for Turanto. “We were able to successfully demonstrate to them that Turanto can solve their problem quickly and inexpensively, and without the risk involved in traditional software development methods. In a number of instances, these public sector professionals said that Turanto would be the perfect solution for what they are trying to accomplish.”

Virginia’s annual Public Procurement Conference is the largest event for state and local procurement professionals and supplier partners, drawing more than 600 attendees and more than 150 suppliers. The conference began Sunday October 28th and ended Wednesday October 31st.

“Even procurement professionals who don’t purchase IT products and services saw that Turanto could help greatly in the management and operation of their area of business,” Murphy noted. “In many cases, these professionals had a problem or pain point in their day-to-day work, and we were able to demonstrate to them how Turanto could help assist them in solving a problem or resolving an operational issue.”

Murphy said that Turanto, currently in Beta testing, will most likely be launched formally late this year, and that the company is soliciting sales and marketing partnerships prior to its formal introduction in the U.S. Interested companies can learn more about partnership opportunities by contacting sales(at)turanto.com.

Turanto is a cloud-based modeling tool that allows anyone to create significantly complex—and working—mobile and web applications in minutes. The Turanto system architecture is based on Microsoft published Patterns and Practices, and is template driven for easy customization. Completed applications have role-based security, single sign-on, workflow, auditing and journaling, search and reporting, among many other features. The application will auto-generate on the cloud as well. In addition, the web application provides all of the necessary services that are optimized for experience on mobile web browsers. No recoding is required.

In development for more than four years, Turanto provides quick creation and deployment of software applications of any complexity, without any coding or programming, simply by using your browser to access the Turanto platform.

The product automatically creates a user interface and database, and uses simple drop-down boxes to build the application by specifying what items you want managed and how they relate to one another. Using the Turanto platform, anyone can develop a feature-rich working application in minutes, and then have others use it and provide feedback. Changes to the application can be made easily and quickly, and final versions can stay in the cloud for easy access by all in the organization, or the code can be downloaded and deployed in your own IT environment.
