ITEN (Information Technology Entrepreneur Network) of St. Louis today released an infographic illustrating St. Louis as a great city for tech startups and emerging technology companies.
ITEN’s infographic compares data on cost of living, average salaries, taxes, and lifestyle elements from several tech-friendly cities across the U.S. Some of St. Louis’ economic advantages and entrepreneurial resources include:
● Ranking among the top 20 cities for number of Gen Y employees in the workforce
● Average cost of living and average developer salaries significantly lower than Silicon Valley, Boston, New York and Austin
● Washington University in St. Louis and St. Louis University are ranked among the top entrepreneurship programs in the country
ITEN provides unique programs, events, and resources to accelerate tech ventures in the St. Louis area. ITEN created the infographic to demonstrate why start-ups don’t need to head to one of the coasts to grow and prosper, and can benefit from sinking roots in St. Louis.
“There are numerous and significant benefits for launching a tech startup in the St. Louis area,” said Jim Brasunas, Executive Director of ITEN. “Aside from the obvious advantage in cost of living, salaries and corporate taxes, St. Louis is growing a skilled workforce that is important not only for startups but established companies, too.”
Brasunas also noted that the infographic highlights many of the startups that have raised millions of dollars and are driving talent growth and innovation.
