Dry beans are recommended for everyone thanks to their high nutritional value...

November is National Diabetes Month and dry beans are known as a superfood for people with the disease. In addition to being a great food for anyone’s daily diet, dry beans are a good choice for people with diabetes because they are high in soluble fiber which helps slow the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates. Additionally, foods that are high in soluble fiber, like beans, make you feel fuller longer; which, in turn, can help with weight maintenance. Dry beans are recommended for everyone thanks to their high nutritional value – they are low in fat, high in protein, and packed with vitamins and minerals.

Even with the numerous benefits that dry beans have, many people shy away from this economical and versatile food. Traditional preparation methods include presoaking for hours, sometimes even overnight, then cooking for hours. Luckily, the EZ Bean Cooker provides a time-saving cooking solution for dry beans.

The EZ Bean Cooker is a small, electric kitchen appliance that uses pressure cooking technology to cook dry beans quickly, with no presoaking necessary. Simply add ingredients to the cooker, select the preset bean variety button, push “Start” and walk away. The EZ Bean Cooker cooks most beans in 30 to 50 minutes. With a simple recipe book that features one-pot meals, the EZ Bean Cooker is an essential kitchen appliance for busy families and those who want to be healthy.

Warm up with the delicious and nutritious Navy Bean Soup recipe that is included in the recipe section of the EZ Bean Cooker User Manual:

Navy Bean Soup

1 pound Navy Beans
8 Cups Water
4 teaspoons Vegetable Oil
1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
1 teaspoon Celery Salt
1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
1 teaspoon Dried Parsley
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder

First, sort beans: remove and discard any foreign material or shriveled/discolored beans. Then rinse beans with cold water. Next, place the sorted and rinsed beans in the inner cooking pot of the EZ Bean Cooker; add the water, vegetable oil, and additional seasonings. Select the Navy Bean button on the cooker, then push Start.

Once the cook cycle is complete, use caution to manually release the pressure. Add salt to taste if desired.
