Businesses providing in home care services to the elderly, disabled, and/or convalescing are presented with a unique set of challenges due to the varying hours of service they provide, and the place of service being at an external location, typically the clients home.
When caregivers are late or miss their scheduled shift and do not notify the agency, the client's safety is a concern as well as the potential loss of business for the agency. "As home care services become more competitive those agencies that can ensure the client's care plan is being met will have an advantage retaining and landing new clients" says Lance Ferden, President of IDS.
Generations Telephony helps the home care agency overcome these difficulties by providing real-time alerts for missed visits and text-to-voice technology for ensuring the Care Plan is being adhered to.
Using Generations Telephony the caregiver calls a toll-free number when arriving at the client's home. Caller ID verifies the caregiver is at the correct location and they are provided the list of tasks to be performed via text to voice technology. If the caregiver does not arrive in time the agency is alerted via email or text message. When the caregiver departs they call the toll free number again and indicate which tasks were performed. If all tasks assigned to the Care Plan were not performed the agency is alerted.
"Each client's needs are different so a customizable Care Plan is essential." says Lisa Ferden, Vice President of IDS. "Alerts ensure the agency can be proactive when a caregiver does not arrive on time or if the Care Plan is not met."
