As an ordinary, struggling Christian, author Candace A. Reigle has learned some of her greatest lessons through prayer. “In 30-some years of regular church attendance I should have known of God's love,” she says. “But knowing of something and actually experiencing it are two very different things. I learned much, and was comforted much, and even changed much, by the pouring out of my heart and God's outpouring of love in return.”
In her debut book, Conversations in the River of Praise: A Journey in Prayer Poems (published by Trafford Publishing), Reigle details the passion and praise pouring out of her heart through poetic verse.
Taking the reader on a journey through her own life of service and fellowship, Reigle presents a startling intimate account of one Christian’s prayer life.
“Prayers are so often just ‘wish and want' lists, without any sense that anyone is even listening to us,” writes Reigle. “But when we make the effort to listen to others, we can learn some surprising things, and this is true in our relationship to God, as well.”
Reigle hopes the heartfelt prayers and depth of communication with God featured in Conversations in the River of Praise will serve as inspiration to her readers. “I offer here the blessings with which I have been blessed. All praise and thanks to God!”
