It’s been a number of years since Cisco-WebEx discontinued their public schedule of live, online classes for end-users. The need for WebEx end-user training is now being filled by a new Cisco partner, Meet Me In The Cloud, LLC. (https://meetmeinthecloud.webex.com)
Meet Me In The Cloud joined the Cisco family as a Registered partner in late 2011. The company was founded by long time WebEx employee, and one of the company’s most sought-after and successful Product Specialists, Susan McEvilly.
Susan was one of a group of Cisco employees who raised their hands in 2011 to voluntarily accept a termination package. She took a month to drive Route 66 from California to Missouri, backpack in Yosemite’s High Sierra and camp at Mt. Lassen. Fully rested, she came back to the Bay Area and invested those Cisco funds to form her first startup; Meet Me In The Cloud.
Meet Me In The Cloud has two primary channels of business. The company acts as a subcontractor to other Cisco UC partners to onboard their new WebEx customers. With the complexities of Cisco’s sales order processes, Cisco partners find tremendous value in being able to turn over the entire post-sales implementation process to Meet Me In The Cloud, so they can focus on sales.
Starting in October, Meet Me In The Cloud also fills that gap long-ago vacated by WebEx for quality, live, end-user training.
On October 2nd 2012, Meet Me In The Cloud launches their public schedule of live, online WebEx classes. They kick-off with 5 basic WebEx titles: Enterprise Edition 101, Meeting Center 101, Training Center 101, Record and Playback and Scheduling Made Easy.
The courses are intentionally scheduled to be as globally, time zone friendly as possible. Registration is done using WebEx Training Center’s out-of-the-box ecommerce tools, and the classes are taught live online via WebEx.
Use WebEx to teach WebEx, seems to be the mantra for this innovative new offering.
