We’ve gone from raising awareness about the issue of body image to giving women practical and applicable tools and information to help them practice healthy living every day.
Arlington, TX (PRWEB) October 01, 2012
Delta Delta Delta Fraternity announces BodyImage3D®, a multidimensional approach to body image awareness and education. This initiative encourages a more well-rounded, in-depth body image and serves as the central focal point for three key components: healthy mind, healthy body and healthy spirit.
BodyImage3D will kick off in October 2012 with Tri Delta’s annual Fat Talk Free® awareness and will continue as a year round effort, each month showcasing a new theme, bringing new challenges and sharing further opportunities for all to strive for and achieve a healthier, more complete body image. The BodyImage3D initiative will incorporate the Fat Talk Free message, which serves to raise awareness about the damaging effects of fat talk and the thin-ideal standard of beauty.
“We felt that it was important to take the Fat Talk Free message a step further. With the BodyImage3D initiative, we’ve gone from raising awareness about the issue of body image to giving women practical and applicable tools and information to help them practice healthy living every day, in all facets of their lives,” says Jeanne Reese, President of The Center Board of Directors.
BodyImage3D is an extension of The Center for Living, Learning & Leading’s Reflections: Body Image Program®, the first evidence-based, peer-led body image education and eating disorder prevention program. Delta Delta Delta partnered with The Center to support and further the cause, which reconfirms the vision of the Fraternity’s Founder Sarah Ida Shaw, who said, “Let us found a society that shall be kind alike to all and think more a girl’s inner self and character than of her personal appearance.” For more information, please visit BodyImage3D.org.
