Employees of Oasis Outsourcing, the nation’s second largest Professional Employer Organization (PEO), based in West Palm Beach, Fla., are now better able to take steps toward leading healthier lifestyles by participating in The Prevention Plan™, U.S. Preventive Medicine’s® program designed to promote healthy behaviors, detect disease in the earliest stages and reduce long-term health risks.

Oasis Outsourcing provides human resources, employee benefits, payroll and risk management services on an outsourced basis. The company serves more than 4,500 clients and 125,000 worksite employees throughout the United States. Oasis is making The Prevention Plan available to approximately 600 internal employees and their spouses and domestic partners participating in the company medical plan. Participants will receive individual health assessments, one-on-one health coaching, personalized action plans and timely, relevant health information. The goal is to improve employee health and well-being, increase productivity and lower health care costs for the company.

“Oasis is excited to be able to bring state of the art wellness tools to our employees and their families in an effort to assist them with improving and managing their health. These tools can help with prevention and early detection, which are critical elements to achieving the healthier lifestyle that our employees want and deserve,” said Barbara Drames, vice president of benefits for Oasis Outsourcing.

The Prevention Plan will help participants:

  • Identify top health risks through an online health appraisal.
  • Follow a personalized action program to reduce health risks, including one-on-one health coaching by registered nurses and health educators.
  • Access a personalized website to store medical information, complete educational programs, receive reminders about needed screenings and track personal progress.

Oasis Outsourcing’s participants will also have access to Macaw, U.S. Preventive Medicine’s mobile app, which transforms a smartphone into the ultimate personal health monitor, connecting a variety of health apps and wireless devices for tracking weight, fitness, overall activity and biometrics – including pedometers, glucose meters, activity armbands, scales, sleep managers, mobile weight loss apps and blood pressure cuffs – into a single app for complete tracking. Data contained in Macaw will feed seamlessly into the online platform for Prevention Plan members. Macaw is available for free download on iPhone and Android devices at MacawApp.com.

“U.S. Preventive Medicine is thrilled about teaming up with a premier professional employer organization to help its associates be proactive about their health,” said Christopher Fey, CEO and chairman of U.S. Preventive Medicine. “This program can inspire employers throughout the country to invest in the health of their employees and use the power of prevention to lower health care costs and improve lives.”
