Discount Party Store Developers is the largest developer of non-franchise discount party stores in the U.S. They announced their plans to partner with the Veterans Business Resource Center through their Heroes To Home program on June 12, 2012 and have begun offering Veterans discounts and services through the program.

Heroes To Home helps veterans transition their military skills into self-employment. Statistics indicate that it takes an average of six months for Veterans to transition back into the civilian workforce. This program assesses skills and connects Veterans with business opportunities or other alternative employment in instances where a job is lost while overseas or if conditions make their former employment impossible.

Implementation of the program has been underway a short time, and there are already a number of success stories. Veterans who would like to start a business can learn more by viewing linked presentation provided by DRSS. There is a one-time cost to starting a business which can often be fully financed, and there are no franchise fees ever because each store is independently owned. There is a startup fee of $1,500 ($500 for Veterans), and this is fully refundable if the individual is unhappy with the service or if the store cannot be built for whatever reason.
