Ascom is very excited by this opportunity to supply the estate of stores with our new integrated solutions.
Birmingham, UK (PRWEB UK) 1 October 2012
With the intention of embracing IP-Telephony due to the centralised nature and control they will have over their telephony estate, the retailer engaged with Ascom at the start of their IP-Telephony roll out project. Ascom suggested store-wide IP-DECT base stations which report back to two centrally located Cisco Unified CallManagers via SIP Protocol. By using Cisco CallManagers the stores are able to take advantage of a centralised IP-Telephone system on one common Wide Area Network, allowing calls to be made from store to store for free via the internet.
The solution incorporates Ascom’s new generation IP-DECT d81 phones, a newly developed till communications platform and Ascom’s unique fully integrated Unite messaging platform. Ascom’s fully integrated applications will unite and transform the customer’s communication capability both in store and centrally across the whole estate.
Ascom is the largest supplier of DECT equipment within the UK FMCG market; this experience was vital in demonstrating their ability to deliver an excellent solution.
Robert Wood, Ascom UK Managing Director further states “Ascom is very excited by this opportunity to supply the estate of stores with our new integrated solutions. We were selected upon our network integration expertise, scalability (up to 100k devices) and durability of our equipment.”
With constant pressure to provide outstanding customer service and minimise business costs, retailers are looking for ways to improve responsiveness to customers and provide a greater level of efficiency. Ascom have helped by allowing Floor Managers, Department Managers and Floor Runners to be easily contacted whilst on the move, increasing efficiency and response times.
The Ascom d81 phone is boasted as Ascom’s most robust phone yet, being able to provide optimal user protection in rugged environments the Ascom d81 is a piece of equipment that can be relied upon. The Ascom d81 features advanced alarm functions like a man-down and no-movement alarms, silent assistance option and alarm prioritisation.
