Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 02, 2012
In effort to help fight childhood obesity and to teach children habits of a healthy lifestyle, Chicago-based, GoPerformance and Fitness located in the West Loop, will be launching its new program, Go Play Fit, this October.
Go Fit Play was developed by GoPerformance and Fitness' certified personal trainers. With over 20 years of experience, the team has created programs for children ages 4-10. The program runs for 6 weeks, every Saturday, starting October 6th.
Gym owner, Mike Meluch shares why it was important for him to create a kid-focused physical activity program:
"Fitness is my passion and as a father of three I wanted to start a program that will introduce kids to fitness in a fun and engaging way. Childhood obesity is an epidemic that is taking over our nation and it's something that as parents we can prevent. At GoPerformance we will get your kids on their feet, moving in multiple directions and excited about fitness."
Although the major theme in the program is physical activity, Meredith Fritz, Certified Personal Trainer, also explains that "GoPerformance's Go Play Fit program will also help kids develop discipline and help improve self-esteem." The team is hoping to make a strong impact on how children think about fun and making physical activity second nature.
