Manchester-based sportswear company Umbro, famous for its football tailoring approach, has released its Autumn Winter 12 collection which proudly demonstrates the brand's unique position to deliver iconic garments inspired by nearly 90 years in the game.

Umbro’s lead story of the season is the distinctive Drill Top, one of Umbro’s most celebrated silhouettes worn by icons both on and off the football pitch. For Autumn Winter 12 the Drill has been re-released in strong, seasonal colourways for a lifestyle play.

A fresh appearance for one of the best loved pieces of football apparel, the Drill Top has been carefully overdyed in three core autumnal colours of Potent Purple, Forest Night and Evening Blue. The original blue colour way completes the four piece collection. The Drill Top came into prominence in the 1990s and each overdyed piece is a stitch by stitch recreation of the original, with the unmistakable Umbro logo screen printed on the chest.

Made from 100% washed cotton twill, the new colours amplify the drill tops unique ability to get better with age, wash after wash. Revisited, revised and staying true to Umbro’s tailoring aesthetics, each Drill Top is beautifully presented in a premium boot bag.

The Autumn Winter 12 collection is also complemented by several smart sportswear pieces. Using the finest fabrics and intricate detailing Umbro has produced a collection tailored for comfort, fit and style.

The Cagoule benefits from a clever composition of fabrics which ensures a tailored fit, while retaining comfort and a free range of movement. Thin and light, the Cagoule is the perfect jacket to wear as an outer layer, featuring a three piece hood and peak, which is both practical and stylish.

Inspired by Umbro’s appreciation for fine fabrics, the Woven Jacket is made from Lightweight Twill, with a polyester part inner. Refined detailing has been added to the jacket, including a metal zip with branded zip puller and striped drawcords through the metal eyelets. The Woven Jacket is also functional, with double jetted pockets to keep your hands warm.

The Thermore Wadded Gilet is testament to the brands’ commitment to producing tailored performance sportswear. On colder days, the insulating technology and padding provides extra warmth and breathability, while the quilting and Melton wool overlay are a subtle reminder of Umbro’s dedication to producing stylish, football smart apparel.

Inspired by the beautiful game, Umbro has released a new footwear collection for Autumn Winter 12. Football DNA runs through the Ancoat silhouette, inspired by Umbro’s iconic Speciali football boot, the shoe features a debossed tongue, diamond-shaped lace eyelets and the Umbro logo on the sole. Available in Red/White and White/Royal Blue, the Ancoat trainer boasts a durable rubber sole, toe bumper and dye-cut EVA panels for increased cushioning. The collection is completed by the Newbury leather that blends comfort with style.
