We are looking forward to seeing the many advantages the Passport system will bring.

Becoming a cultural ambassador and finding exceptional and affordable live-in child care is now easier and more reliable with the release of InterExchange Passport, the InterExchange Au Pair USA program’s new interactive application and matching platform.
Passport gives prospective and current host families and au pairs 24-hour access to connect with each other, ask questions, schedule interviews and share information to pursue a match, as well as manage all financial and personal communications with Au Pair USA staff.
Michael McHugh, Program Director of the InterExchange Au Pair USA program and one of the designers of the Passport interface, is confident that the new system will give host parents a more convenient way to select prospective international au pairs who would be a good fit for their families.
Host families and au pairs both designate preferences in the system, sharing information about themselves to determine whether the match will be successful. The system also facilitates immediate personal communication between the host families and au pair candidates.
“The technology we used to create this interactive platform is the next step in the evolution of au pair matching. Because we custom designed the system based on preferences stated by families and the au pairs they host, we know that we’re directly addressing their needs and making the matching process that much better” says McHugh. “Passport is an instant, easy way for a family to upload their profile and preferences and to evaluate the profiles of the au pairs who have joined the InterExchange program. It also gives the prospective au pair a chance to learn more about the family’s lifestyle before agreeing to a match, while the family can consider au pairs from certain countries whose cultures they’d like to introduce to their family.”
Passport also enables host families to gain exclusive access to the top au pairs they are interested in, so they can make more thoughtful evaluations when deciding on their new child care provider.
Once a family and au pair have matched, both parties can track the visa process and travel itinerary of their au pair in real-time via the system. After a family’s au pair arrives, they can do everything from pay bills to contact their Local Coordinator with questions.
McHugh says, “We are looking forward to seeing the many advantages the Passport system will bring. As always, our dedicated Local Coordinators and Matching Specialists will continue to give personalized attention and provide guidance to both parents and their au pairs throughout their time with our program.”
