Every practice area has specific data-related needs; Clio users can now tailor their matters and contacts according to their specific practice requirements.

This week, Clio (http://www.goclio.com), the industry-leading cloud-based law practice management platform, celebrates its fourth anniversary with the introduction of one of its most-requested features: Custom Fields.
In the years since its launch, Clio has helped to transform the legal practice management landscape by offering small- and mid-sized firms unprecedented ease-of-use, affordability and practice mobility with its cloud-based system. More than ten thousand legal professionals rely on Clio every day, and the company has grown from three to over sixty employees since its launch. Users of Clio are now managing over 7 million contacts, 1.75 million matters, 4 million documents and 2 million e-mails using the system.
With the introduction of Custom Fields, Clio users can now track additional information relating to their Matters and Contacts in a structured way. Clio’s Custom Fields supports “typed data,” meaning a user can specify that a Custom Field is a text field, checkbox, date, currency, number, currency, picklist or a contact or matter reference.
Custom Fields are also fully integrated with Clio’s Document Automation system, allowing users to create form-based documents that integrate custom field data from Matters or Contacts.
“Custom Fields has been one of our most-requested features, and we’re thrilled to deliver a whole new level of application flexibility to our customers,” said Jack Newton, Clio’s co-founder and CEO. “Every practice area has specific data-related needs; Clio users can now tailor their matters and contacts according to their specific practice requirements.”
To thank its valued customers for their support, Clio has launched Clio Rewards, where customers are rewarded with iPads and other gifts as a token of appreciation for introducing new customers to the platform.
Clio is a comprehensive cloud-based practice management, time & billing and client
collaboration platform specifically designed for small and mid-sized law firms. Clio can be accessed using PCs and Macs as well as mobile devices including iPhone, iPad and Android tablets and smartphones.
Secure and easy-to-use, Clio provides case/matter management, time tracking, billing/reporting, client contact and document management, task scheduling, trust accounting, and detailed reporting. In addition, Clio includes Clio Connect, a secure portal for exchanging information and collaborating with clients, and Clio Express, an offline time capture application.
Clio is based in Vancouver, B.C., and was founded by Jack Newton and Rian Gauvreau in 2007.
