Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 02, 2012
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and individuals and organizations the world over are taking steps to express their support for those afflicted with the disease and for those with suffering loved ones. FUN Enterprises, Inc., the Massachusetts based company renowned nationwide for their corporate, educational and private events, is no exception. The company is proudly launching their “FUN Goes Pink” program and they have chosen to donate a portion of the fee for every FUN Enterprises, Inc. program booked to play in the month of October to the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk in Boston.
American Cancer Society, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is the leader in the fight to end breast cancer. The foundation invests more in research to find, prevent, treat, and cure cancer than any other nongovernmental organization, currently funding 232 breast cancer research projects, totaling more than $120 million. It has played a role in nearly every major breast cancer research breakthrough in recent history, including establishing mammography as the screening standard, discovering lifesaving treatments and better understanding factors that can reduce the risk of getting breast cancer.
American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a walk that gathers members of the community in order to honor those diagnosed with breast cancer, remember loved ones lost, and create a world where no one has to face this disease. It’s appropriate that FUN Enterprises, Inc. chooses this foundation and walk through Boston as a partner in humanitarian efforts. Two decades ago, Boston, as well as New Hampshire, was the site of the first Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks. Now, in 2012, walkers across the nation unite with the common purpose of ending breast cancer. Nearly 8 million walkers have raised over $460 million through the Making Strides event since 1993. Together and united, human effort and funds raised help people to stay well, get well, find cures, and fight back, and FUN Enterprises, Inc. is proud to be a part of such a noble effort.
A portion of the fee for every FUN Enterprises, Inc. program booked to play in the month of October will go towards this worthy cause. In addition, anyone who is unable to book an event during October but still wishes to join FUN Enterprises, Inc. and the American Cancer Society in breast cancer fundraising may donate directly by visiting the FUN Goes Pink donation page.
“FUN Goes Pink” is an interesting choice of words considering FUN Enterprises, Inc. is known for their bright orange shirts at every event. Not so this October. The company’s employees will sport bright pink shirts at every event during the month to show their support for this worthy cause.
