Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) October 02, 2012
The End Violence Project announces that it will host an afternoon of Chamber Music on Sunday October 7, 2012 to benefit the Mahin Bina Memorial Scholarship Fund. The concert will take place at Trinity Memorial Center for Urban Life at 22nd and Spruce Streets from 3:00-5:00 PM. The concert will showcase the Belmonte Trio featuring Robert Durso on piano, special guest violinist Jason DuPue and cellist Glenn Fischbach. The End Violence Project is a non-profit organization created by the late Mahin Bina and a dedicated team with the mission to end violence without violence. EVP provides leadership programs to inmates and ex-offenders that help them to create a successful transition back to life with their families and communities.
The End Violence Project has programs in Pennsylvania which are designed to prevent recidivism among ex-offenders and end the cycle of violence and incarnation. Through the program, the participants learn skills that prepare them for a life dedicated to the improvement of their communities. This results in community healing and safer neighborhoods - -the end of violence where it had once been commonplace. EVP’s programs consist of a voluntary six-month leadership program offered in prisons, and a community center based program for returning citizens. All of the inmates and ex-offenders that participate have a strong commitment to living a positive life and ending the cycle of violence and incarceration. Through the program, they learn a variety of skills that prepare them for a life that is dedicated to the improvement of society.
The End Violence Project is supported by generous multi-year contributions from IntelLiDrives, Inc., manufacturer of precision linear actuators, rotary tables and XY tables for the industry, government, science and research institutions around the world.
