Former Florida Assistant State Attorney, Matthew Gunter, joins the law office of Katz & Phillips, P.A. His courtroom experience and criminal law knowledge, developed as both a prosecutor and private lawyer, will benefit clients.

The law office of Katz & Phillips, P.A. is pleased to announce the addition of Matthew Gunter as an associate attorney. Gunter joins the firm’s DUI and criminal defense practice.

A former Assistant State Attorney with the 18th Judicial Circuit for Seminole County, Gunter prosecuted thousands of cases including DUI, possession of marijuana, and domestic violence battery. His time with the State Attorney’s Office allowed him to evaluate cases and hone his skills as a trial lawyer.

As an associate with Katz & Phillips, P.A. Gunter will use the skills he learned both prosecuting and defending cases to find weaknesses in the State’s case and advocate zealously for clients and their rights. His experience on both sides of the courtroom is clearly an advantage, as Gunter understands how the prosecution builds its cases.

Gunter graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in criminal justice and graduated from Barry University-Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2009. After earning his law degree, Gunter was in private practice in Brevard County handling criminal and family law cases throughout Central Florida.
