By incorporating LTI integration Learning.com will enable a more seamless experience for their customers across a wide range of integration scenarios.
Portland, Ore. (PRWEB) October 02, 2012
Learning.com recently gained its IMS Global Learning Consortium Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) 1.0 conformance certification. LTI establishes a standard for integrating learning content and applications with learning management systems or other education portals.
"The LTI standards indicate we have achieved a seamless integration of digital content across our entire product suite,” said Paul Ownby, Director of Solutions Management at Learning.com. “With the LTI certification, teachers can be confident they are selecting the best content, without having to worry about compatibility issues.”
Learning.com is certified as both an LTI Tool Provider and Tool Consumer. As a certified Tool Provider, teachers using any learning management system can incorporate any content from Learning.com, including content that is not itself LTI compliant. As a certified Tool Consumer, Learning.com can integrate content from any LTI certified provider. This dual certification allows teachers more flexibility when using Learning.com as a learning management system or as a content provider.
“IMS is very pleased with Learning.com achieving LTI certification as both a tool provider and consumer,” said Dr. Rob Abel, Chief Executive Officer of IMS. “By incorporating LTI integration Learning.com will enable a more seamless experience for their customers across a wide range of integration scenarios.”
Learning.com includes curriculum and assessment solutions targeted toward STEM, digital literacy, and state-specific areas. The company recently announced a partnership with Blackboard Inc. that allows a quick and easy integration into Blackboard Learn™, a leading learning management system. The Learning.com Marketplace features curriculum resources from a wide range of content providers, including Scientific Minds, SAS Curriculum Pathways and more. Curriculum can be organized and searched by standards alignment, subject area, or content provider.
