The Tories have come top of a political list of love cheats in a poll by leading extra-marital dating site IllicitEncounters.com.

This week the Conservatives host their annual party conference in Birmingham (Sunday 7th to Wednesday 10th October). The survey found that 34% of Conservative supporters would have an Illicit Encounter if the opportunity arose.

Lib Dem supporters came second with 21% and Labour came in third with 18%, the most faithful of spouses were Green party supporters with just 4% that would consider playing away.

The survey also revealed the politicians that members would most like to have a fling with. Nick Clegg maybe behind in the political polls but is still popular with the ladies getting over 40% of the female vote. Meanwhile Louise Mensch proved that despite standing down as an MP she had left a lasting impression, getting almost 60% of the male vote.

The survey which enabled members to suggest politicians that they would like to have an Illicit Encounter with led to the amusing finding that more women would rather have an affair with the fictional character Darth Vader (not a UK politician) than the Chancellor George Osbourne.

Illicit Encounters spokesperson Rosie Freeman-Jones said: “Affairs within politics are hardly a new thing, with politicians from all parties falling foul over the years. But Candidates and activists should beware of conducting an affair at a party conference as the chances of getting caught after having a few too many drinks when your guard is down, or being seen leaving the wrong hotel room in the morning when all of their colleagues will be staying at the same location is very high.”

James, a former political party employee and member of IllicitEncounters.com said: “Conference is always a hot-bed of Illicit behavior, the combination of being away from home and late nights in the conference bars often leads to poor romantic decisions being made”

The survey also revealed some disappointing news for Ed Miliband as the ladies placed him lower on the list of politicians they would like to have an fling with than his older brother David.
