Suffolk County, NY (PRWEB) October 03, 2012
On October 3rd, the obstacle racing event Spartan Race releases a statement regarding the Tri-State Super Spartan, an 11-mile obstacle packed race that took place on September 8th and 9th at Mountain Creek Waterpark in Vernon, N.J.
Despite a tornado warning plaguing the tri-state area, the Super Spartan continued with full force. The downpour was nothing in comparison to the intense challenges and obstacles that competitors excitedly faced. The unique terrain of the 11-mile course consisted of “3,000 feet of elevation gain,” reports Spartan representative Carrie Adams. In addition, the course’s 24 foot cliff dive proved to be the most popular portion of the race.
The Tri-State Super Spartan welcomed 10,000 competitors, including the 21-4-0 record holding UFC fighter Jim Miller and Team Gaspari Braveheart. The Gaspari team consisted of 77 individuals who represented Gaspari Nutrition, a sponsorship partner for Spartan Race. In addition to racing, the crew handed out bags of samples for fellow Spartan racers.
Adams reports that the fastest time of the New Jersey race clocked in at an hour and 47 minutes. The Tri-State Super Spartan was sponsored by Newton Medical Center, Zico, Air National Guard, Franklin Sussex Auto Mall & Dodge RAM, Body Armor, and Inov8. Spartan Race is thankful for the support of each sponsor.
