St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) October 02, 2012
According to six lawsuits, an intoxicated driver caused an accident on Interstate 270 last year, killing several children and injuring others. The lawsuits haven’t been filed against the driver, though. Instead, Meyerkord & Meyerkord, LLC is representing seven plaintiffs in six law suits (Madison County Circuit Court case numbers 12-L-1520, 12-L-1521, 12-L-1522, 12-L-1523, 12-L-1524 and 12-L-1525) against the bar that allowed the intoxicated driver to leave the establishment with his car keys. Allegedly, the motorist was seen drinking at a bar the night of the accident when one of his co-workers gave his keys to the bartender because the man was drunk. After arranging a ride home for the man, a co-worker left the man’s keys with the bartender.
The six lawsuits claim that the bartender gave the keys to another employee, who eventually gave the keys back to the man and allowed him to leave the bar while intoxicated. A short time later, the man allegedly caused the car accident, killing two children. Now, the parents of the children are suing the bar for funeral costs, lost society, support, companionship, guidance, advice, and love and affection. The other plaintiffs were injured and are suing for lost wages, pain and suffering and medical costs. The cases will be represented by Stephen F. Meyerkord and Geoffrey S. Meyerkord of Meyerkord & Meyerkord, LLC in St. Louis. Each case is seeking a judgment of more than $150,000.
