We are hoping to be able to do our part to help. This partnership with Laura's House and Human Options should be a win-win that gives us the publicity that enables us to give so much more than we could have given on our own.

Pinhooks, a California company that makes a push pin style wall hook, has partnered with two local women’s shelters for their new “Pin for Her” campaign. These shelters, Laura’s House and Human Options, save the lives of battered women every day by offering them a place that they can receive food, shelter and support.

According to recent studies, every 9 seconds in our country, a woman is assaulted or beaten. These women are often scared and helpless, and feel that they have nowhere to turn. Battered women’s shelters such as Laura’s House and Human Options are there to protect these women, and show them that they don’t need to allow the abuse to continue.

“Having lost my mom to domestic violence in '91, protecting battered women is a cause that is near to my heart on a very real level. These women need our help to protect them from the monsters that haunt their lives and the lives of their children” said Jeff Frazier of Pinhooks. “We are hoping to be able to do our part to help. This partnership with Laura's House and Human Options should be a win-win that gives us the publicity that enables us to give so much more than we could have given on our own. We can't save them all but when I think of the 'one' that we can save —that gets me moving. I wish that my family had been the 'one' that was saved but we weren't —but that won't stop us from trying to help others.”

Through their partnership with Laura’s House and Human Options, Pinhook’s goal is to contribute as much money as possible to help these shelters and many more provide counseling, shelter, food and assistance to the women who no longer feel they are safe in their own homes. Through the “Pin for Her” campaign, Pinhooks hopes to make a difference in the lives of women this October, and anyone who wants to help need only make a purchase, big or small.
