It took just two weeks for EthoSource, an office furniture liquidation firm, to complete two bankruptcy liquidation projects in Downtown Washington DC and Norwalk, Connecticut. One of the largest law firms in DC needed their office furniture out of the building in less than one week, followed by an Internet direct marketing services company located in Norwalk, CT.
Two projects of this magnitude are no easy feat as Frank Foote, an EthoSource liquidation team member, states “The sheer amount of furniture in each of the buildings and the short timeframe made for some long hours.”
The long hours in DC were spent removing 16 trailer loads, which are equivalent to nearly 3 football fields, of high-end used office furniture. Some of the items removed include Tuohy private offices, hundreds of different office chairs, dozens of rugs, Wall Goldfinger marble conference rooms, filing and more. Foote explained the complexity of removing the furniture from this particular job, “The marble conference tables required an extreme amount of attention to avoid mishandling and ruining the tables.” And went on to say “Desks are also fairly difficult to remove, because you don’t want to mix and match parts and pieces, so it is my job to make sure each desk is properly labeled and handled. When you’re dealing with large quantities like this you have to be very diligent.”
Once the used office furniture is removed, it is shipped back to EthoSource’s facility where it is cleaned, touched up and made available to customers. Through office furniture liquidations, EthoSource is able to provide significant cost savings compared to buying new, without sacrificing quality.
Just as one job was wrapping up, the crew went on to the next office liquidation in Norwalk, CT. “I have to tip my cap to our entire team. Executing two projects of this size in such a short window of time is quite an accomplishment,” Foote stated.
