Dedicated to Giving Customers a Voice: Software Updates Sourced from Community through Forum Website

Through 3dcart’s “Feature Requests” website, customers login, submit ideas, comment on other ideas and vote for their favorite feature requests. The 3dcart management team actively monitors the forum.

More than 16,000 online merchants make up the 3dcart community—and each has a voice in the software’s development process. Launched today, version 4.10.1 of the software includes 40+ updates, most of which come directly from 3dcart storeowners contributing ideas through http://3dcart.uservoice.com.

Through 3dcart’s “Feature Requests” website, customers login, submit ideas, comment on other ideas and vote for their favorite feature requests. The 3dcart management team actively monitors the forum, updating community members on which features are in development or have launched.

New payment gateways, bug fixes, feature improvements, performance upgrades and enhanced SEO functionality round out the new features in the most recent 3dcart launch. 3dcart plans to continue prioritizing the needs of community members through monthly update launches.

“The social web has opened up so many new channels for discussion and collaboration that it’d be silly for us to ignore them,” said 3dcart CEO Gonzalo Gil. “Our community has a profound understanding of our software and a gigantic stake in its success. We’re continually dedicated to listening to what the community has to say and prioritizing its needs. We take that responsibility seriously, coupled with our own responsibility to stay ahead of the ecommerce curve.”

Software Improvements in 3dcart 4.10.1
Many of the updates that just launched came from specific community inquiries. For example, updates like the ability to duplicate promotions and preview order emails started as ideas from 3dcart customers.

Some highlights from the software improvements include:

  •     New payment gateways: MasterCard Internet Gateway Service and First Atlantic Commerce are now available for payment processing.
  •     Better performance: Homepages and category pages now load 60 percent faster.
  •     Improved features: Admin, frontend, order processing, product management and marketing tools received updates.
  •     Search-friendly extras: Automatic 301 redirects and Google sitemap improvements represent a few of several SEO updates.
